About the event
This is a full weekend conference with my different educators registered to teach at the event. Below are the classes and descriptions that I will be teaching at the event.
1. Creating Physical reactions on Purpose
Picking the right words or phrases to create the right experience can feel like reaching your hands into a ‘bag of holding’ and hoping you pull out the right items. We will be working to identify the exact type of experience you are looking to create by breaking down the different aspects of your inductions, discussing the reactions you or your play partner would like to experience, and the creative things to add your play to enhance the reactions and create unique triggers for later.
You are welcome to bring items that stimulate the 5 senses to use for discussion.
2. Playing and mental health
A round table discussion to talk about mental health, how it affects different dynamics, and how to be both aware and supportive.
A round table discussion to talk about mental health, how it affects different dynamics, and how both aware and supportive.
The sex + community brings a diverse crowd and as we work as a community to become more aware and educated to your own needs and the needs of others around us. There is a history of stigma against dating and playing with someone with a diagnosed or presumed mental health diagnosis or playing as someone who is diagnosed. We will discuss community awareness, self-care, advocating for your own needs in and out of the scene, and navigating resources.
3. Ethical Negotiation
This class will be broken down into 3 parts:
Part 1 - We will start with how to introduce yourself to a potential play partner with confidence, how to tease apart all of the different categories to consider when playing with a new partner for casual pick up play, how to identify limits for yourself and ask that of your new play partner, and how to start the conversations of play.
Part 2 - In depth negotiation for more intense scenes including: safety, health, how to navigate disabilities, and how to set boundaries.
Part 3 - Expanding into an aftercare plan for you and those you are playing with.
